I found most of my pets names from movies. We had Nala, a dog, from The Lion King. Buttercup and Wesley, cats from the movie The Princess Bride. Conan, a dog, obviously Conan the Barbarian. I also had a cat I named Phoebe, from the show Charmed. It's always fun getting people to guess what movie your pet is named from.

i know it sounds weird but ask the cat. What name does he respond to?

When I first got my cat, I had about 4 ideas but he never responded - completely ignored me.

One night, I was watching tv. Since I lived by myself back then, I was talking out loud. complaining about a character, his name was Jack. Everytime I said the name, the cat would look up and come running.

I have now had Jack for 14 years.

Feynmann. Feynmann, Einstein, or Ein. There's something creative about naming your cat after womanizing physicists. (They may have been womanizing, but then again they both did have wives and children at some points in their lives.)

Scratch and sniff are damn good names as well, but only really good if you have two new cats.
