You aren't "prosecuted" for living you're lifestyle. We aren't forcing it on anyone where saying that we are proud of who we are. Last time I checked no one shamefully admitted that they where strait.
We certainly don't hear you complaining about any other group now do we?

Perhaps you shouldn't attend those parades and conventions. Every year they have a parade on St. Patrick's Day for the Irish and no one who isn't Irish complains about being forced to be green. Heterosexuals have their day, everyday, because the law currently favors them. Forcing a lifestyle would be to hold down someone and make them do something they didn't want to. If the law said that all people who wanted to marry blondes couldn't get married, they would have a parade, too. But you can marry blondes, but hey, hold a parade just cause you sound like you want to. Good luck on finding out how great homosexuals are and what great friends they make, just like your hetero friends.

With any group of people that have been openly shown hate, disgust, even violence to, I think it's necessary for the people that have shown such ignorant and hateful behavior to know that they have not won. Also, as far as it goes for homosexual people, it's a way to break into the gay community and show pride for themselves because society today makes homosexuality almost humiliating. The question really should be why do Heterosexuals need to force thier lifestyles on Homosexuals? I mean, why do they find it necessary to try and make homosexuals straight? It's a two sided battle that won't be resolved without acceptance.... and that goes for every group of people that has been shown violence towards. Yes there are gay people in the world, in your neighbor hood, in you realm of contact. Yes we will be here until the end of time. Yes some of us like to have parades and conventions to show our pride. Is that really so wrong?

I am assuming the same reason that any other club, group, etc hold rallies, parades, or conventions. We're not forcing anything on anybody it is a time come together and mingle with people that can relate to you. On St. Patrick's day I celebrate and I am a Georgia Peach. I believe it is called FREEDOM OF SPEECH. I don't recall anybody receiving a letter saying it is mandatory that you attend Gay Pride.

First of all, we do not live "lifestyles", we live "lives". Secondly, I can not speak for all LGBT people, but I feel the same way about straight people that you feel about gay people. I mean, why do you people feel that it is neccessary to force your lifestyle down our throats? Why do you people feel the need to make movies showing men kissing on women? Why do you people even show affection in public like holding hands or saying, " I love you" out loud for everyone to hear? While it is true that you people may not march around while "holding signs about it", your signs are flaunted in our faces on a daily basis. Geesh...It turns my stomach!

Well, maybe the question should be "why do heterosexual people have a need to force the lifestyle on gay people?"
How is being open about our relationships FORCING our lifestyle on you? Don't you watch TV, read magazines, go to school/work, watch movies go to 4th of july parades and christmas parties???? What do you see? Heterosexuals holding hands, kissing, making out, cuddling, laughing, loving, talking, yelling, celebrating.....so, couldn't you say that you are forcing your lifestyle on us?
Nobody is forcing anything on you. This is a free country and you don't have to look at anything if you don't want to. Please don't make this all about you....The straight world already has everything. Why are you so threatened that we just want to live our lives and celebrate who we are, just as you do?

I don't think anyone intended for the "lifestyle" to be forced on "heteros". First what you call a lifestyle is as much a part of us as being hetero is a part of you. Difference being the christian church's and the Republicans that they control say we are second class. Why should any of the above say who I can love or marry? If we don't have the same rights why do we pay taxes?

Who do straight people have a need to force their 'lifestyle' on everyone? I mean, why do you find it necessary to infiltrate the churches, schools and most other groups and try to recruit others to your orientation?
I am attracted to a bearded man, do I have to hear all about how you are having a baby and your toddlers, and how bad a dancer you are? Geesh . . .

You live in the mainstream and I understand it. I too live the straight life but let me tell you something about being bisexual I can not live that side of my life. If I expressed my desire for a man my wife would leave me. My family would disown me and my friends would no longer feel they knew me. I have myself to blame for that situation because I never should have married in the first place but I got married because I knew I loved women just as much as I loved men and knew that I could find acceptance living as a straight. I didn't know how much it would ache to deny half of my existance. And I can honestly say had society been more accepting of bisexual people I would not have felt the compulsion to deny this side of my nature. God made me this way and I have denied it for 40 years now. I am still happy I love my wife our sex life is very fulfilling but I still yearn for a man to hold and to have an intimate relationship with. I have been faithful for those 20 years and it is not easy to keep going but I have made it this long I can continue I guess. I am not in to anal sex I am not in to gender bending effeminate men. I am masculine, I would not be someone you would pick out on the street as having any same sex attraction. But even though I am not into camp gay life, I respect thier rights to do that. It is not me but I am also not you. I think it a bit unseamly to flaunt my life before the world as the most vocal minority of homosexual do. the majority probably feel as I do and you don't see them because they lead quite lives at home and don't flaunt who they sleep with.

Why shouldn't you if you want to?
But, on the other hand, why do you need to? The entire world revolves around you as a straight male, particularly if you are also white. You may not realize it, but it is true. There is a famous quote about this. Something like (but not precisely) "You straight men, as you set at the banquet that is your life, every delicacy you could ever want laid out before you -- why must you kick those of us in the corner, happy with our crumbs."
Be well and be happy. *hug* Its just a thought.

Uh, well considering hooters is a very popular establishment that you PAY to visit, your point about blondes is out the wondow. Besides, they would only be forcing their lifestyle on you if they marched you to the parades with a gun to your head...or made it a law that the only legitamate marriage is one that coincides with their lifestyle... oh wait, pretty sure we straights already impose this. Think, bud. But thanks for the 2 points.
