I have been feeling rather depressed recently also-but i am doing something about it and am starting couselling soon! I think you should perhaps do the same if you need to talk to someone.
You have to think about what is making you depressed and how you can help to change it. BY actively dong something to change how you feel, this will lift your spirits.
Also try regular exercise and keep away form alchohol (which is a depressant) Talk to your family and friends about your feelings and be as honest and open as you are on here!
Good luck xx

Once in a time long ago, there lived a mutlington named Garth McBrady. Mutlingtons look like you and I but are much shorter and have purple whiskers. This mutlington mulled over the meaningless of life and wanted nothing more than to crawl off into a hole and await his fate. "T'would be better," Garth said to himself. "That I'd be nuttin' of 'dis world and yea, swift onward towards an early, shallow grave."
But little Mr. McBrady didn't count on one thing: That the Lady Ganeh plotted against him to steal his orfinufin. Like all Mutlingtons, Garth carried with him a magical piece of rock called an orfinufin. It's a very special kind of rock that glows in the dark when it is happy. Some humans think that possessing an orfinufin will give the bearer immortality. It doesn't actually, just glows and glows and glows. Garth always thought his was pretty.
Lady Ganeh however, was one of those foolish humans seeking power and everlasting life. Oh a little bit of ever lasting life can be a good thing, I suppose, but if you let it consume your entire day as Lady Ganeh would do very often, you won't end up very happy.
Garth however was too moribund to keep a close eye on his orfinufin. He found that he couldn't look at it all. It was too cheerful, too bright. He didn't feel that way.
To himself, as he was most in the habit of doing, he ranted, "I can'ts be lookin' at the darnest thing. It'd be pretty but I be sad and the tears they fill my eyes 'cause the joy just won't cometh."
At this point, the Lady Ganeh tried to steal Garth's orfinufin, while he was trapped in his despondence. The lady, who might not exactly have qualified for that term, in her haste and desire for power, had neglected to realize that you can't just take a Mutlington's orfinufin. You have to win a contest to get it.
So Garth (because it was his orfinufin) got to pick the contest. He chose dance-off. "I's be pickin' and swingin' and jiggin' and you won'ts be able to outfox me."
The Lady Ganeh said, "Fine. Dance-off. Please let it be salsa." But Garth, being a strange little mutlington chose ballroom.
"But we have no partners," complained the Lady.
Then Britney Murphy and Tom Cruise got off the space bus because they were hauling **** to lalapaloza. Since Britney knew how to cha-cha-cha but Tom Cruise wanted to jump on the Lady Ganeh's couch, Garth won the contest, got to keep his orfnufin and for a brief two week period before the annulment was married to Britney Murphy. He sold his story to Hollywood for millions and now heads a semi-successful contracting business in Boise, Idaho.

The best pick me up is to count your blessings, starting with being lucky enough to be put on this earth, move on to your family and friends and then every other little thing you can think of. Be grateful for being able to see, to smell, to speak, to hear, to feel, you name it, it goes on and on. Be thankfull for the beauty around you, the trees, the lakes, the grass, the flowers, the birds. You take it from here, only you know all that you have to be grateful for.
Whenever you start to think about what you don't have, count your blessings and remember what you do have. Start every day like this and you won't be depressed for long.

Go do something you like. send everything to hell, stop where you are at right now and get out. Go drink with some friends. Go to the movies. Have sex, go swimming, go to a wrestling or boxing fight. Go play racket. Go visit and take out some kid nephew, niece or friend. and after that, you will realize it's okay to have problems some time. You have to realize that you shouldn't worry so much for your troubles, for if they have a solution, your worry is not needed, but also, if they don't have a solution, stop worrying since you can't do anything to fix it. Stay cool, cheer up. Somebody, somewhere appreciates you very much and thinks of you quite often.
Hope this helps.. ;)
Good luck girl

go shopping, buy a new clothes and wear it. Try to keep your self_ confidence up . Don`t eat chocolate it make you fat and more depressed at the end believe me .It might help but, you must do exercise instead. Always say "when you are good why you want to be perfect". Lord be with you. Good luck. It`s only a period of time we all go through

Try page one of the newspaper.
Then learn to say: "there but for the grace of God go I".
In other words, focus on your blessings and not your fleeting discomforts. There are people out there every day having to deal with horrible situations.
I'm sure they'd gladly trade their agony for your depression in a minute.

booze, a trip to the monkey house at the zoo, watch kids play at the park, read a good book, listen to uplifting music, call a friend....the list could go on. Or, call your MD for meds.

Well, you can get drunk...naw... that doesn't help. I believe that regular exercise will provide the greatest benefit. Pick what you think would be fun, running, racquetball, tennis, bicycles, horse riding, dog tracking, swimming, Try it!
