My dermatologist recommended it to hide the remaining scars from a long history of acne, but I have no idea how to use it.

Dear Rachel,
The best way to apply powder is to dust it in the compact , and then blow off the loose powder. Then you should begin applying it around the edge of your forehead, and continue until you cover your face.

The proper way to apply loose power is with a decent sized brush. You should dip the brush in the powder and carefully shake off excess. The powder should be applied to the T-zone area of your face (the forehead, nose, and chin). Powder should be used sparingly to avoid a caked-on look. This summer is all about showing off your natural beauty. You should choose a powder that absorbs into your skin such as Mineral Veil by Bare Escentuals http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P61004&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=S10810

You have to use a brush applicator. Preferrably a large makeup brush.

Do not use a pad because it's not easy to use with loose powder. The brush will allow you to move the powder around your face, even and blend in so that the powder isn't concentrated in one location.

Get a powder brush (Sonia Kashuk's brushes, at Target, are pretty good and inexpensive). I take the top off of my loose powder, dip the brush right in and tap off the extra. Then I take the brush and dab it all over my face, and when I'm done, dust off the extra.

Use a large brush to apply. Apply in circular motion. It gives you enough to cover but doesn't leave powder marks or you don't use that much.

Brush it on with a large fine haired brush. Make sure to wash your brush every month I'd say to clean out the gunk.

With a large make-up brush. Dust it over your face after applying moisturizer, foundation (or tinted moisturizer) and your make-up. It sets your look.
