Watch the Discovery Channel on the weekends. They usually have shows on Dinosaurs and their history. They're pretty interesting.

Not sure what your question is. But we know they existed from fossils. From the fossils, scientists/paleontologist somehow can estimate how old they are, giving them a slot in our timeline. Hope this answers your question.
