Try warmed up white vinegar soaking it in side and out in a container larger than it is. Then try Efferdent the tablets for false teeth and rinse thoroughly.
Hope it is not permanently etched because in that case, you will never get it back to being cystal clear.

Try cleaning with a hard water stain remover such as CLR or Lime Away. This has always worked for me.

I think I heard somewhere that mayonnaise will take spots off crystal. Rub it on and let is set a minute or two then rewash as normal. Hope that helps.

i imagine I easily ought to believe both above me. sounds like you didnt rinse the sand previously putting it on your tanks. you should use sand. relies upon on what sort of sand your using. You shouldnt use marine sand for a freshwater tank. Isnt good, can mess your PH up. do a touch each day water alterations. might want to get the tiny debris out.

believe it or not denture cleaner works awsome on that,the kind that you put in a glass and it fizzes for a couple minutes,just drop your stuff in there and let it do its thing,when you pull it out it is sparkling new!
