Im in a relationship for 4 years now Im goign to ask her to marry me next week and id ask her fathers permission but cuz she lives far away I cant ask him in person and I think its rude to ask over the phone so what am I suppose 2 do

Congratulations! I wish the two of you luck.
As for asking the father, I think it is a sweet, romantic thing to do. I only hope and pray that my boyfriend does that with my dad (my dad lives an hour away from us). My ex never asked my dad and my dad had a hard time liking him (actually never did like him). He likes my boyfriend I have now--a lot. So, I am sure he would have no problem saying yes. :)
If I were you, I would make plans to take a trip to ask him, and her, in person. It is much more personal that way and more respectful of the both of them.

oh man just call the man and ask for his daugther hand in marriage is not like you really have to, but hey its just a little detail that in a way will make you look good. just imagine when is your little girls getting married you are going to feel like real good when a guy get all nervous to come to you for your permission to married your daughter because after all this is your little girl she is yours and the asking is just an respectfull detail be open minded.over the phone or in person is the same thing.

Even though some people don't ask the fathers for their daughers hand in marriage, it would be a good idea. It would be because it shows the father that u have respect enough for him to ask and shows that u do care enough about his daugher. a little respect with parents can go a long way if done right. So it would be a good idea to ask in person.

Please make no excuses, pick a date and time to drive or fly to where her Father is, show him how much you do love and care for his daughter by respecting his old tradition, asking for daughter hand in marriage and for he and his wife blessing. Trust me you will have alot more, and respect you will gain.

I dont think you should ask himbecause what if he say no then what are you going to do then but ask her to marry you first then if she say yes then tell what shold yall do about her farther and whatever she thinks is the best then do it because what if you tell her farther and she dont want you to.
