I ask this question because there is an argument about the media and Iraq. My friend seems to think things are not as bad as the media is reporting. I say it is. I think the number of police officer killed here is far smaller than that of soldiers and separatly Iraqi security forces killed in Iraq. Such a statistic would prove that things are as bad as the media is reporting

yes the number of police killed here in the US is smaller
however in the same amount of time, that the war has been going on we have lost just as many americans in the city of detriot.
take it from someone who has been there the media is way off and is only showing the stuff that sells
we are making a differnets in iraq the civilians do want us there and are grateful!

For 2005 it was 156, according to the "Officer Down Memorial Page." To date in 2006, there have been 66 officers killed in the line of duty. The U.S. Justice Department may have the definitive count.
