many of you people probably came into this thread thinking im one of those idiots who doesnt beleive in global warming. but i do.

i just know there is nothing we can do about it. its a global resources, and fossil fuels will be used until they are gone. if the US doesnt use them now, China and other developing countries will down the road. Were just gonna have to accept whatever damage it causes, and deal with it. might as well not ruin the economy by trying to get off of them all of a sudden.

kisk29: you completely missed my point. im saying we can do that, but there will be developing countries who use fossil fuels till they are gone even if we start conserving

G: im not saying that because China is doing it, we can. I'm saying, if we dont do it, China will. and if not China, other developing countries like India, African nations, South American nations (minus Brazil), etc. will use those gases and put them in the atmosphere, maybe just 10 years later than we would. so why start making tough restrictions that will hurt our economy when the end result is inevitable?

That kind of attitude (if we don't do it someone else will) or the lie that it will take away jobs is infantile at best and self centered self serving tripe at worst.

China and India have already agreed to the Kyoto agreement and are (in some areas) doing something about it. Already American made cars can not be sold in China because they do not meet fuel efficient and emmission standards in China.

As far as the jobs are concerned most of the people crying the loudest have done all that they can to eliminate any environmental or worker safety regulations they can. And still they move more jobs off shore so that they have no worker or environmental regulations to deal with. All the while having there head quarters off shore so that they can avoid paying any taxes. And still they aren't satisfied.

There is only ONE (1) Earth.
It is the only place that you can live without artificial life support.
Time and time again greedy people have destroyed the envioronment for there own short term profit.
There are many many examples through out history ,like Easter Island or Iceland or north africa ..., where the environment was destroyed and the society collapsed taking centuries to recover, if they ever did, because of greedy people had the attitude that if we don't cut the last tree down (or something like that) someone else will.

The difference now is that these greedy people are destroying the whole planet not some isolated portion for there own self serving self centered short term greedy purposes.

There is not another planet like Earth within four and a half light years. With current technology it would take several hundred to a thousand years to get there IF there was a simmilar planet there that was not occupied and was suitable for human habitation.

I hope rapture comes soon and takes all of you greedy self serving self righteous re*******s away so the meak can start cleaning up the mess you have made.

There is only one Earth Love it or leave it.

>>>there is further and extra info pointing to cosmological impacts (consisting of decay of the moons orbit) that are out of our administration. What utter garbage. The moon is transferring faraway from the Earth at an commonly used of three.8e-2 meters in step with 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, and its orbit is, lower back on commonly used, 3.84e8 meters. it is a whopping a million% change in the gravitational impact of the Moon on earth over fifty one MILLION years. there is not any longer even a causal courting between the Moon's orbit and temperatures on earth, except tidal heating which may shrink because the Moon strikes away. Sorry Dana, the advice of preventing methane would for my section be a waste of time to boot. The competition to carbon dioxide undertaking isn't all depending in the consequences on the monetary gadget, lots is because those people do not even settle for that AGW is real. at the same time as there will be a lot less competition to methane emissions if it will be shown that the monetary impact does no longer be as primary as that of CO2, the time for easily law to bypass will be nevertheless extremely tremendous. a short time period answer in the destiny isn't a sufficient answer to any difficulty.

You're wrong, there IS stuff when can do and it's been proven, like let's say....walking instead of driving. Simple things like that'll help. You do know that global warming is caused by Carbon dioxide being put into the air and trapping the heat waves in our atmosphere....right? So obviously we're not going to stop breathing, but just think about what causes carbon dioxide, and if it's a necessary thing. Cars are yes, sometimes necessary, but with america these days, we SHOULD walk.

so... you're defense is "the Chinese are going to do it, so we should too".... just because one person does something, it doesn't necessarily make it right...

I have a feeling that China is about 10 years away from being an economic superpower and about 30 away from being and ecological disaster that will bring its economy crashing down in a late attempt to clean it up...

$1 of prevention may be worth $100 down the road...

I agree - if we followed Kyoto, we're talking about the US spending + losses in the $500 TRILLION range.

Besides the Northern Hemispheres temp. has only risen 1 degree in the past 30 years and theres evidence that the sun has burned hotter over the past 100 than ever before.
