Some people get them just to be "cool", but a majority of people with tattoos get them because they want a permanent reminder of something that is meaningful to them.

Well,I've got over 300 tattoo's and I got them when I was young and stupid because as the other person said, they look cool.
Now I don't want 'em!

soooo many reasons. If you want to show your interests or things you love then why not exress it by having a piece of art on you forever. Tatoos represent your style and who you are. Some people think its dumb though because they are permanent and will always be on your body, but thats why you pick something realyl good to get.

I have 5 names on me and i got them because at the time i was trying to fit in with every other person on the streets but now that im older and a mother it looks kinda tacky and its hard to get a job, I work at McDonalds and they make me put bandaids over the ones on my arms

I got my tatoo because I wanted to; I shopped around and had ideas of what I wanted. When I finally found what I was looking for I then got my tatoo, I didn't go out and get a tatoo of the first thing saw. I love my tatoo, it's apart of me. Each tatoo has alittle story behind them, it's actually interesting to hear them.

Same reason people get vanity plates, odd piercings & pink hair....they feel the need to express themselves & think there are people who give a sh*t about that. But tatoos are forever. Very shortsited people get tatoos I think.

as something to signify an important part of their life. I have two of my own. One is a cross and the other is a butterfly for my grandmother. Just helped me deal with things that were going on in my life.
