It is all well and good to conduct such an experiment until someone's feelings are on the line. If he is serious you need to end it - and not by saying "haha you are an idiot. you have fallen for the wrong girl" but by saying "you are so sweet and in a perfect world I would be yours, but this is not a perfect world and we can not be" - unless you feel the same for this person (in which case he will totally understand that you used a false name on line because you were shy or uncertain).

You shouldn't be doing him like that. Just delete the email address he is writing you at and anything he's in contact with. It's what I'd do....
Use your real pictures and if you are scared someone will know who you are use small pictures or dark pictures...
He must really like you if he asked you to marry him,but then again he must be a FREAK!
So I'd get away from him some how.
