vecuz i think i got spyware on my comp since its saying my comp is infected with it and is windows defender free and safe?

from everything i've heard, it's pretty good. it's free and it's safe as long as you get it from Microsoft's site or a safe alternative (like www.download.com)
Personally, i use Spybot and Ad-aware
to keep it from happening again, get the goggle toolbar or yahoo toolbar added to your browser. they both have spyware defenders to keep your computer from getting infected. Also, try a firewall, like zone alarm. All are free on the net.

go here top of page is spybot then first in text block is adware se then 5th one down is spywareblaster which prevents spyware from getting on your computer. (Don't forget to load spywareblaster cuts back on your spyware by 90%-100%) The first two are removal programs all good get. Be sure to update once a week and scan once a week.

nope keeps messing up. I really believe it is bait for MS to collect data on spyware so they can make better updates for Windows xp.

Anti-virus! what else! 1. first identify the virus (using anti-virus) 2. if the antivirus fales to remove it, run a search google with the name of the virus 3. download a remover and your virus is out!

it's good for being free, but my recommendation would be Webroot Spy Sweeper. It updates itself daily.

yes..I use it and it is very easy to set up. Give it a try and see. If you don't like it you can always dump it later. :)
