THAT RUNNING IS BAD FOR YOU. I get so sick and tired of people telling me this, really. I am in the best shape of my life, I can point out major news articles and research about the long and short term benefits of running, mentally and physically.
I get so sick of people saying I'll get arthritis of the knees when the NUMBER 1 risk factor for that is being overweight.

Money - in particular where corporate interests lie. Athletes are at the mercy of the corporate dollar - with it they prosper, without it second is the highest place they can finish. Tired of finishing second they resort to other means to ensure victory. Those with corporate backing get the best in medical support, the best refs money can buy, the weakest opponents, the most friendly venues...
Money is the most controversial thing there is in sport.

How about the issue of giving an 18-19 year old millions of dollars to play a game when he isn't mature enough to handle the money or pressure of big time sports. Is it fair to allow the coaches and agents to mediate their punishment for battery on their girlfriends, for drug possessions, arms possessions?

referees are always contraversial.. especially in soccer!!
