It makes me look like Cleopatra!! I have tried many times and many shades along with line width, but I'm thinking that I'm not made to wear eyeliner. What do you think?

I used to think that I could not wear eyeliner also. Even when I applied a small amount to my lids it looked like I was wearing too much makeup. If you have light eyelashes and light eyebrows like me, eyeliner can be a challenge. I discovered the best way to handle eyeliner was to trade in my black and charcoal pencils for shades of brown. I use a dark brown shade on my eyes along with dark brown mascara. I was skeptical of using these shades at first, but they look so natural especially with my hair coloring. Also, if you have light eyebrows, your eyeliner can look like it is too heavy. The eyebrows are so important because they frame your face, so make sure you are not over-plucking your eyebrows. My suggestion is to get a lash tint at your local salon or color in your eyebrows with natural-looking waterproof eyebrow powder.

For daytime looks, eyeliner should be smudged into the lashline, not drawn above it. You can line the entire top lid using this method, but be careful when you approach the inside of your eye, as the lashes are more sparse here. The trick is to made it look as natural as possible. For a more dramatic night-time look, eyeliner can be worn thicker. Wearing heavy eyeliner on your lower lid for your every day makeup routine is overdoing it. Makeup is meant to be worn naturally and that means yous must resist the tempation to line your entire eye but simply coat your lower lashes with mascara instead. Good luck!!

If you've tried everything and you still don't like how you look, maybe eyeliner just isn't your thing. I bet you look great without it and if I were you, I'd forget about it. A more natural look is in now, anyway.

Don't put on any bottom eyeliner. So we have half of Cleopatra gone now. So for the top, do a VERY thin, but DARK line as close to your eye as possible (don't hurt yourself). And, voila! Cleopatra's gone for good.

If you are looking like Cleo. Then maybe you are applying the eyeliner past your lash line. Try by just applying it along half of the lash line starting about midway and working your way outward. Or try lining just the bottom or top not both. See if that gives you the look you are trying to achieve.

Heres a tip that will work for you. Put on your eyeliner normally, then get a Q-tip and smudge is around so it looks natural.

I can never get it right! My daughters even tried and they couldn't get it right on me either. They do a good job on themselves, but sometimes I feel like they look too old or they look like they have "raccoon eyes," and then I suggest that they just wear less so as to look more natural. My feeling in general is the less make-up, the better.

Don't put it all the way around your eye, just try it on the outside of the top and bottom. Stop when it starts looking bad.
