When picking out a backpack you have to think about the following things:
1)style--what look do you prefer
2)health--try to get one that won't put too much pressure on your back. it will prevent further back problems years down the line.
3)size--you want to have enough room for what you need to carry (and if you have classes that you aren't allowed to take your backpack into, make sure it will fit in your locker along with everything else that's already in there)

jansport definately
not only do they last forever, but if they wear out, they have a warrenty, so you can take them in for a new one (in a new color too)
