i think you should date for at least 5 years beforing getting married.its best to get to know more about that person an to know if you really want to spend the rest of your years together.live with them for 1year too...

My husband and I were together just over 2 years before we got married... and the first 3 years of our marriage were still very very difficult. I would suggest being together for at least 2 to 3 years. THEN I would suggest PRE marriage counseling. The divorce rate is over 50% now days. You'll appreciate all the extra help you can get, trust me.

Live with him for at least long enough for the newness to wear off during your new love phase. if you can live with his quirks after that and still feel you can't be happy without him after that. you have a good chance. Nothing is guaranteed.

Well, there has to be love. Without it, there is no true marraige. If you love a person and you feel like you really know them, then it doesn't matter if it was 5 weeks or 5 years

At least 3 years. You want to be able to see how they act in all of the different seasons. I know it sounds funny, but people do act different depending on what time of year it is.
