I don't know about natural, but I think it could be an interesting and artistic expression of your friends' personality. If it's something well thought out, and serves an artistic purpose of who the person is, I say go for it!

It looks great.
I did it.
Had it done by an expert.
First, a mold was made of my skull.
From that mold, a titanium insert was made which has the texture of hair.
Once that was in, under my scalp, it provided the shape.
The shading and coloring was applied in ink to the skin.
It looks real.
