I don't wanna blow 40 bucks getting my tires mounted... that money could be better spent on a tank of gas.

Are there any tricks to doing it at home? I already tried with soapy water on the bead and lip of the rim and a screwdriver, I got it on about 4/5 of the way... I can't get the last bit over the lip.

Do you think KY or something would work better than soapy water?

There's no way in hell I'm paying 60$ a tire. I'll just take them if they give me a bill like that.

i use to work at a goodyear. trust me, take it and get them mounted. busted knuckles , a few new curse words, you will still wind up taking it there. we charged up to 60$ a tire because some were even dificult for us. look at it like this. how long did it take to get that far? how long does it take for you to make 40 $ If you mess up the tire or rim , whats that gona cost? go pay them and you will be happy you did, in about 30 min

NO..NO..and NO

There is no way to mount ANY tire using soap, a screwdriver, and good intentions.

You MUST have your tire mounted (and balanced) at a qualified repair facility. Repair facilities use specialized equipment to mount tires on rims. You CANNOT do this yourself. If you stubbornly insist on trying to force the tire on to the rim, you can tear the bead, therefore rendering your tire investment a worthless hunk of rubber.

Spend the 40$ ..
It is cheaper
