I'm really sick of wells fargo lately, their online banking SUCKS and purchases either don't show up for days or they show up, disappear, then show up later. Yeah I'm not too great with my finances but I'm really sick of their crappy service, so who should I switch to?! Around here we got Bank of America, Washington Mutual, and US Bank...I've heard a lot of good things about Washington Mutual...anyone use em?

As someone who works in the industry and a current Wells Fargo customer, I can say that Wells has much more services than Washington Mutual. Whether it's student loans, mortgages, secured credit cards, brokerage, insurance, grocery store branches or some other financial-related thing, if it's legal, Wells Fargo probably does it.

I've heard WaMu is more strict in reversing overdraft fees than Wells Fargo too (ex. WF does something like $100 per 6 mos. but WaMu's new account only waives one fee per year -- $25). And purchases using your debit card are all going to process the same, for the most part, no matter what bank you use. I try to always keep at least $100 in my account.

I like Wells Fargo because in California where I live, there's more ATM's than WaMu. And since I have my mortgage with them, they give me a checking account that waives fees at other ATM Since my credit isn't all that great, I started with a secured credit card, got upgraded to a normal one a year later and have been happy ever since.

I'd compare what WaMu or US Bank gives you that Wells doesn't, then go to Wells and see what they can do. Don't forget about credit unions either. They usually have really good rates (for auto loans) but not that many locations. It depends on the area you live in.

I did. First of all, I had someone manufacture my ATM at a gas station in Los Angeles and then drove to about 50 ATM's in the Los Angeles area and proceeded to withdraw $6,000 from my account. Wells Fargo has no security alert to notify me about this. I found it by doing my usual on line banking. They reimbursed me but HOW ON EARTH do you not have some sort of alert when someone goes to the atm in 50 different cities in a matter of days??? You're Wells Fargo for God's sake!!

Second, their CEO is the highest paid CEO of the banking industry and I found that ludacris considering they couldn't take some of his salary and maybe add a security function on their computers that might signal an alert when someone withdraws from an ATM 50 times in 50 different cities,

Thirdly, I sold some property and after all that, I refused to put the money from the property with Wells Fargo after the 20 years of crappy customer service!!! So I switched to Wash. Mutual (whose stock is doing great by the way).

Initially, Wells Fargo was 1st Interstate Bank which I liked and ever since Wells Fargo took it over, I've never liked it but it seemed like SUCH a hassle to switch. But I got sick of them.

A fee for this, then a fee for me calling and asking what the fee is, then a fee for the fee of the fee of me calling and asking,,,,,,it just never ended with the fees. I got sick of making the mortgage payment for the CEO's house.

at the instant i think of WaMu is the a lot extra helpful decision. I financial enterprise there in my opinion, and the advantages you get there for unfastened are a lot extra helpful than what you may get at Wells Fargo. of course there is not any reason to no longer keep the Wells Fargo account as long as they are actually not charging you something.

I would personally stay away from any large bank. Wells Fargo has treated me unfairly. I understand about charges appearing and disappearing. See my question.

I would find a local family bank. Small businesses are more intimate and want to keep their customers. Large banks don't really want customers with no money.
