Why do the red sox and the yankees are the biggest rival in mlb history?

well like i love the yankees! but nobody tellin me why boston and ny are prime enemies in mlb history

I think it goes way back.The Red Sox sold Babe Ruth to the Yankees and he turned out to be the best so they were said to be cursed.All these years have gone by and the Yankees always beat the Red Sox and I think the Red Sox just get frustrated and then tension between the teams and fans built up.
