You think they're more exciting. Unfortunately they're not. Their just like everyone else, except mean.

I have been trying to figure that out for a long time. I loathe the 'bad boy' type, they should all go on some deserted island for a party and never come back. You should never mistreat a woman for any reason. Any women I have met that are mean to their men has been seated in them being abused in the past. What happened to a society that treated women with respect and dignity? I say ignore the bad boys and go find a nice guy that is usually tougher (but more modest about it) and will always make you happy

I think it's a confidence thing. Nice guys tend to come off as pushovers, wimpy. Even though you know that they are the right kind of guy, you don't desire to be with them because you don't think they're going to effectively lead and you'll ultimately walk all over them. They appear somewhat emascualted. They become another girlfriend to you.
Bad guys have this overbearing sense of control and you find that attractive. It seems fun and exciting...for a time until you realize what a jerk the guy is and move on to the next rough and tumble guy who has a sense of confidence.
I personally am I nice guy with a sense of direction. I knew what I wanted for my girlfriend now wife and I was able to communicate that to her and lead, not in a controlling way, just a confident and loving way.
Find a guy who cares for you but as well has some sense of control and leadership, you'll be attracted to that and find security at the same time and that's ultimately what all you ladies are looking for in a relationship.

I think because some girls have the need to save those bad boys and take care of them...or they're just rebelling against their parents.

Basically, it's the male version of Damsel in Distress.
People love to be the more powerful, the "better" person in a relationship, and there's no better way of showing this than saving/reforming someone.

cause they are really confident about everything which allows them to be assholes and perosnality does not matter to girls in highschool all about looks.
Look at highschool were the populor kids ugly at all the cool kids were the ones whos parents spoil the **** out of them buy them $50 dollars shirts and nothing under that buy them the things that make them look like that...wow went on another subject
