I know I don't. You're here, you're queer, good for you! Just be yourself and live your life...
but I don't *get* the whole gay pride thing. I mean, I'm straight. I like men, whooooooptie doooo! Who cares! There is a lot more to me than who I like to flirt and mate with. If being gay doesn't matter, why make it such a big deal? Seems to me a lot of this is just being provocative and trying to make fundamentalists of all religious sects mad. It doesn't make me mad, I honestly don't give a sh*t if someone is gay anymore than I give a sh*t if someone is another race.
So do you care about it? I know I don't!!! I'm like "Congratulations!" lol TMFI. lol I don't drive around with a "married and proud" sticker on my car. lol

Hey, good points on here!!!!!
I agree with the young lady who said that parades are a waste of time.
I am not biased in my anti-parade sentiments. I hate ALL parades. I don't even go out on Independence Day. lol
Maybe that's what my problem is. lol I don't bat an eye at homos kissin' in the street. I saw some chicks holding hands downtown last week and nobody gave a crap.
I think we're at the point where race and sexuality honestly doesn't matter.
Aren't we??

I cannot tell you the depth of the $hit that I don't give. I could care less. The way I see it, every gay guy that hooks up, leave a potential girl behind for me. And every lesbian gets a flannel shirted cokcblocker out of the way.

I'm sunk 10 feet deep in the middle of this whole debate! I'm bi, my step kids mom left my husband to be a lesbian, my best friend is a lesbian, but other than the gay marriage issue, I don't give a $h1t either. My friends all tried to get me to go to PRIDE and I know people who travel to other states for PRIDE and have the whole bumper sticker thing going and personally, even being bi,I kind of take offense to the whole thing. If we truly want to be equal, this does not involve shoving our orientation down other peoples throats! Now, I'm not talking PDA, it grosses me out to see anyone make out in public, gay or straight, but seriously, I don't have a special colored ribbon anywhere saying I'm married to a man, but like girls too!
Maybe you and I just have our p00p in a group and don't need to worry a about anyone Else's orientation, religion or the color of their skin, but sometimes I think intelligence is the exception rather than the rule when it comes to the population in general.

I have no problem with another person's sexuality and don't understand why anyone else would. I think it could be a product of past experience or upbringing. I don't think it's a person's choice or something that they control, so I don't think they should be judged by it. And I would refuse to be part of a religion in which it would be a sin. That would be like saying being black is a sin, IMHO.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say that yes I care. Not because i think it's disgusting or because it's gross but because I believe that it is a sin. Granted all sins are equal so we shouldn't single out being gay, however it should still be frowned upon just as much as every other sin. I'm not perfect, no one is, but that doesn't make it right.

I agree with you. If you wanna be gay you don't have to have some parade about it. You don't see us straight people marching around like idiots. If they want to just blend into society then don't make it such a big deal.

Yes, I totally agree with you. I mean should we straight people start having parades and special tattoos that tells everyone that we are straight. Gay people do not understand( they say) why people are against them. Well, if they just stop this " I'M SO GAY AND I'M IN YOUR FACE AND I DARE YOU TO SAY ANYTHING TO ME ABOUT IT"!! Then they would find that most people could care less.

I love women; naked and yearning to be "used". ;-] But I don't care if someone is gay or lesbian, or even if they like sheep! It's "your thing". Do what you want to do. However, I do think that "Gay Pride" activities held for public display will cause many homosexuals harm in the future. Considering the lunacy that exists within the "Christian Right", gays and lesbians might want to "tone down" their particular lifestyles in public before some of those religious wackos does something deadly, claiming "God told me to do it". .

I'm heterosexual also, but I think the issue is heterosexuals CAN announce their love for another person without problem. We can walk down the street holding hands, we can show off our wedding rings, we can go on a romantic getaway, etc. We don't have to have a special "event" to be proud because society affords us the right to be without interference.

No, I really don't give a darn either. But things like this stem (IMHO) from a minority group's desire to be recognized and understood. I would love to see the day when we don't feel the need to have "International Women's Day" or "Black History Month" or "Gay Pride Day" or fill-in-the-blank cuz it would mean that people are okay with differences and with their own self-identity.

I agree with you. I consider one's sexual orientation to be none of my business. I believe in Live and let Live. The problem I have with the parades is the "in your face" attitudes as they try to force acceptance on me.
I would be equally opposed to any parades for diaper-wearers, foot worshipers, or any other group reunited to celebrate whatever sexual proclivity. My point is that whatever happens between two (or more) consenting adults is fine with me as long as it's done in private, and not shoved in my face.
