Hi everyone!

I'm a female, married, and currently have 2 tattoos and a belly button piercing (along with the standard ear piercings)---so I'm into adorning my body. I've become increasingly more interested in getting my nipples pierced over the last few months, not only for my personal gain but for my husband's as well. My husband is currently deployed to Iraq (has been since January and will be home the beginning of August--not too much longer!!) and I've mentioned it to him, and although he seems excited he is a little nervous due to potential complications. We do not have any children as of yet, but I've been told on numerous occasions that breastfeeding is not hindered as long as the piercings are taken out and have adequate time to heal.

Do you all have any advice as to the pain factor (how painful it is, how long they remain sore), healing time, precautions, pricing etc? Thanks a bunch!! :)

Hi, I'm Lynx the body piercer.
Firt of all the pain is different for everyone so for me to tell you weather or not it hurts would be inaccurate for you. Mine hurt, yours may not. How long they remain sore depends on the individual as well, standardly about a week or two. Healing time is standardly 2-6 months. Pricing will vary depending on the shop my shop charges $80 for both or $40 for one. Aftercare is very important, first of all know that while healing you can not play with them or have anyones mouth on them!!! you have to wash them twice a day witha liquid unscented antibacterial soap and water, sea salt soaks are also recomended for 5-10 minutes a day for the first 2 months, or the use of h2ocean (not both, one or the other). No swimming until they are healed! and under no sircumstances should you ever put any of teh following things on a healing piercing:
NO Rubbing Alcohol (it dries out the piercing and irritates it)
No Neosporin (causes jewelry to reject)
No hydrogen peroxide (does the same as both of the above)

Breats feeding...when the piercings are healed you can take them out and how long you can leave them out without them closing is different for everyone, if they have been healed for a year or two you should be able to take them out and breast feed without them closing. If you take them out before they are healed they will close! You do not need to let them close to breast feed, you just need to remove the jewelry as it is a choking hazard.
If you have any further questions feel free to email me.
hope that helped.

Girl, it hurts. The first one is not so bad, but then you know what to expect and yeah. it hurts. Expect soreness for 5-7 days, and I'd recommend getting barbells instead of rings, they look better and are easier to clean. They will try to heal around the piercing, but if you clean them daily with saline solution and q-tips then they should be fine. Be sure you go to a clean shop that uses new needles and that the jewelry you buy is clean before they pierce you, also, go to a shop where the piercer is trained in doing so. Youll like it; I loved mine. Good luck.

PS you will scar from getting this done. I had mine for 6 years and have small scars as a result.

I had both of my nipples pierced a couple years ago, I won't lie to you it hurts like hell! Afterwards they remain sore for about a week but each day they are less and less sore - wear a sports bra to keep pressure on the piercings (it makes them not so sore) and clean them atleast 2 times a day with a soap that has no scent and soak them in sea-salt water. Pricing can go from anywhere from about 30 - 60 per nipple and you can pick from either barbells or hoops (recommend hoops for initial healing process as they won't get stuck on clothing) good luck to ya!

Make sure that when you first get a piercing, put alcohol on it.
