That would be awesome, yet expensive and laboring.

Absolutely Not. Chimps are not suited to a home environment at all.
Zoos and research labs have steel bars and bullet proof glass seperating people from even the nicest, most people oriented chimps.
They are so much stronger than we are that they can kill you by accident and not even realize what they did. Not to mention if they ever got angry with you.
They have sexual behaviors they can not be trained out of.
They live as long as humans and are EXTREMELY intellegent. Zoos have trouble keeping them in cages because they figure out the locks and escape. Being caged seems to piss them off, and in this case your whole house will be a cage.
Have you never been to a zoo? They fling poo. More poo than a big dog makes in a week they fling in one shot.
If you want to get involved with Chimps, go volunteer at a Zoo. They would love to have you. Or donate money. There are many foundations and zoos that are very much in need of funds.

I ran a primate sanctuary for 8 years and No a chimp would not be a good pet. The males become very aggressive as they get older and can inflict sever injuries.
Smaller monkeys such as squirrel monkeys might make good pets if used to being handeled at a young but are VERY messy and need large enclosures.

most likely not. a chimpanzee is a wild animal that deserves to be left in the wild. bringing it into a house will not only be a lot of work to care for it, it will probably bring you trouble in the end. you've heard stories of people keeping other exotic pets, like alligators and tigers and such. those don't end well unless the person is fully capable of caring for the animal.
besides, isn't it illegal?

NO! not unless you are experienced with these types of primates.
they are so precious as infants and clowns as the grow, but they are still a wild animal by nature and once fully grown can become extremely large and they have great strengh compared to that of a man or woman. you should not have other kinds of animals around either aleast while they are infants. they may look sweet and cuddly but they do not belong in a regular household unless they are being raised by an experienced foster family. i would give might right are to have a tiger(probably as a snack), but i would never do it unless i was licensed and had the facilities and knowlege to care for this incredible animal. lets leave them in the wild or with the experts.

no. They wouldn't. Adult chimpanzees are large, dangerous, and smart. They are wild animals. They are cute when they are little, but when they get to be adults, they are no longer cute, and thier humans can't handle them anymore.
Its also cruel to keep them as pets. Most chimpanzees kept as pets in houses generally are not sane.

Only if you have about 75, 000 dollars laying around burning a hole in your pocket, nothing to do with your time, and have at least a half an acre of land that your willing to turn into a natural environment. No...It probably still would'nt be a good idea.

only if you don't mind something that will throw it's own feces, make extremely loud noises, tear up everything that you own and live a VERY long time.
