In the catagory of believe it or not--and I am absolutly serious--alot of shoe companies & shoe stores have a guarantee that they do not tell you about. It is a lifetime guarantee--if your shoes ever wear out or get damaged, they will replace them FREE for you, for life. The BASS family of stores & brands (just as an example) is one of them.
Who made them--where did you buy them? Get on the phone (800# free call) to the manufacturer or the store you bought them from & check it out !!! BTW if you need info on the manufacturer, get it from Google, using the advanced search link. Type in the brand of shoe or its style or name & see what comes back.
Don't get hung up in the details--if you bought them from a Payless Shoe Source in a different local, take them back to the one nearest to you

Goodwill, Salvation Army and many other thrift stores have great deals on shoes and clothes. You might even want to apply for a job at one of those thrift stores ...hint, hint, hint.
