squid and the whale.
It is painfully humorous.

i'd recommend 'The Holy Mountain' through Alejandro Jodorowsky, it really is a marginally heavy movie with extra symbolism in it extremely than dialogues, and meant for mature target audience, yet easily nicely worth it once you're an open-minded and smart individual.

"An Inconvenient Truth" is the most terrifying movie I know I'll see this year (and I mean that in a positive sense).
The other recommendations I saw ("Squid and the Whale" and "Capote" were also excellent).

Everything is Illuminated - Elijah Wood
I got this movie from Blockbuster this weekend.
It's fantastic, it has laughs, and moving parts.
Also, Schizo (Ukranian foreign film)

Goddard's"Week-end", anything Truffaut. And I don't know if it is considered artsy, but "Run Lola Run" is amazing.

Secretary is great. Its funny and poignant. Rushmore, also very funny and wonderful performances in both. Those are two of my favorite indie films.
