Trend Micro has a fairly decent online scan...but if you already know your computer is infected..the BEST way to clean it is have someone scan your hard drive that means while your not using windows...it other words you need another computer to do it properly. this link will certainly help..and show you everything except what is hidden while your operating system is running.

You don't just need program to run. You need to follow a procedure that will give the AV/AS programs access into all areas of the computer. Most Malware hide part of it in hidden areas not accessable to the AV/AS programs. When they say they removed the infection, it comes back. This is because it wasn't completely removed and download the virus or spyware again.

Go here and follow this procedure. This procedure works with any AV/AS program you use, not just the ones she has you use. If these don't do it then use other programs following the same procedure to open you computer.

You can also try a very good online site. I recommend having the latest version of Java, Update 7. Remove all old versions through Add/Remove Programs.

http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_ie.jsp

Do the online scan here. Select the Full scan for Spyware and Virus.

Actually virus's are not the biggest problems. Spyware and adware are the main problems that slow down and stop computers. AD-Aware, Spybot search and destroy are the best of the free programs. Nowadays the spyware files are buried so deep and return with each booting, The best answer is purchasing Spy Sweeper. The tech support included with the program is worth more than the cost. Since the questions you have asked is similar to a lot that appear on answers, I have prepared this to aid you. Topics covered are: Anti virus, Anti spyware, Browsers, e-mail, Word processors, Database, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Drawings and Photo manipulations. All programmes described are free to use, some even for commercial use.

Antiviral.
AVG free. Excellent protection available from: http://www.Grisoft.com

Don't use two antiviral products together as they may be incompatible. If your Antiviral trial has run out, then remove product from your computer and get the AVG installed.

Antispyware
Essential products are: Adaware SE from: http://www.lavasoft.com
Spybot SD from: Download.com or similar, Tucows etc
Spywareblaster “ “ “ “
Windows Defender - from Microsoft downloads.

Office Applications
Open Office has an extremely good free to use and distribute product at http://www.openoffice.org

It contains programmes fully functional in Word-processing, Database, Spreadsheets, Drawing and Presentation. It looks and feels like Microsoft Office and can even make PDF's

Photo-manipulations
For ease of use and management of your photo files try Kodak easyshare software or Picasso.

For advanced and fully functional photographic manipulation gimp2 is very similar to Photoshop and is available from http://gimp.org

Browsers and E-mail programmes.
Can recommend Firefox for browsing and has many safety features installed and is self updating and for a general e-mail programme, Thunderbird is very good. Go to:

http://www.mozilla.com/products/

Fun and helpful programmes
Have a look at Calendar Magic, it has lots of Scientific, Geometry, Factor and Expression calculators as well as Global distances, Sun and Moon Data, a Pregnancy Calculator, Time Data and Alarm clocks as well as an extremely comprehensive range of Calendars in about 27 different formats from Afghanistan to Vietnamese, including Chinese and Hindu.

C Cleaner. http://www.ccleaner.com/
This will tell you a lot about what is on your computer, such as running programmes, cookies, History, settings etc. and will help you clean up and remove unwanted items. Be careful how you use it as it is a very powerful programme and you should read the help index before you do anything with it.

Hope this information is of help to you and others.

If your computer is already infected then the best bet is to scan your computer using an online scanner. Spyware and Trojans can cripple the installation and the use of antivirus applications. I recommend you first scan your PC using Trend Micro's Housecall. Housecall can scan your computer for viruses and spyware. It will even delete them for you, which is not always the case with other online scanners. The link is http://housecall.trendmicro.com/.

When you finished using the online scanner, you can install antivirus and anti-spyware software programs. There are plenty of free software if you have a tight budget. PC World has two excellent review articles for both free and commercial products.

2. "Free Antivirus: Finally Ready for Prime Time" http://www.pcworld.com/howto/article/0,aid,113462,00.asp

Honestly I doubt you find one. All of them on the internet you download and scan, but they won't fix your problems unless you purchase the product. I suggest you go to Amazon.com and maybe type virus scanner they may have some more affordable ones for you to use.

I would just send it into a comuter place that will fix your computer and remove the malware. If it is too expensive and they ask for a lot of money, just say: "I'll give you an bj."
