love it, love it, LOVE IT. Trouble is, finding someone to take classes with. I've always been involved in dance in some way and when ballroom classes were offered I would be the partner for the guys when they were split out from their lady who was also learning. 10 cents a dance.......Now I'm glad to see the TV competition and love watching it.

I don't like watching ballroom competition or exhibition on TV. At the championship levels the dancers are such dance athletes that what they're doing really doesn't relate at all to what's done by normal folks in ballrooms. And at the lower levels, it's just boring to watch because it's repetitious. It really isn't a good spectator sport. (Though I did enjoy "Dancing With the Stars," but that's more about the contestants than the dance.)

But I enjoy *doing* couples dancing (and ballroom dancing provides a lot of ways to do it). I like spending the evening with the wife, having a few drinks, and doing the dances together, I like the constant motion, I like the challenge of making the transition from one fast move to the next without a break. I like learning a new step and then fitting it in at different places in a set routine to see how it changes the feel of the routine as a whole.

I couldn't dance at all before I took ballroom lessons. The lessons were a bit of a grind at the beginner levels, but now the dancing is fun. And after not knowing how to dance for much of my life, it's nice to finally know how to move to the music when a good song comes on.

Like so many other answers, it something I thought about doing, just never got around to. It looks like it takes a lot of skill and is a great way to impress a lady (not a girl or some chick you meet in a bar).

I love to two step, but then I do live in Texas! Yee-haw!

P.S. When I dance, I do like to have ballroom. :P

I completely agree with the above. Ballroom dancing is so much fun, especially if it's the Latin dancing.
