theres no way to protect your fingers because if you put anything on them the string probly wouldnt hit the fret...but after the time when they bleed it gets better and your fingers get tougher...it doesnt take a long time...and then itll be all better if you keep practicing...sometimes if you dont and then you start up again they bleed again and that whole thing happens...so keep practicing...

After a while you should get calists. i don't think there's really any way around that unless you wear some type of finger caps or gloves and I would think that would affect your playing. The cuts and blisters should stop happening once your hands/fingers are used to playing.

I think she means her fretting hand. There is no real way to prevent it. There are ways to minimize damage. There are string lubrication products such as "Fast Fret" and "Finger Ease." They clean your strings and act as lubricants, although I have found that both prodcts are basically WD-40. WD-40 works just as well for both cleaning your strings and string for lubrication.

Also, there are coated strings, such as "Elixer." I have personally never cared too much for coated strings, probably because, by the time they came on the market, my fingertips were well calloused.

Which leads me to this. Building the callouses on your finger tips are the best way to preventing cuts, blisters and overall pain. After a while, the callouses go away, leaving the skin on your fingertips leathery... kinda like a moccasin. Once you fingers get like this, your problems should go away.

their is this stuff called invisible fingers, it goes on like a wax coat and protects from cuts I'm not sure where to find it but my uncles use it when they play.

the fingertips on your hands hurt big time at first, huh? but the good news is, it goes away eventually. calluses are good, don't try to keep em from coming in.

wrap them before playing with finger tape , from the drug store.
some beauty supply stores carry it for nail techs.
or treat your fingers with super glue one drop on each finger, make sure it's dry before you touch anything, don't glue your fingers together please, or to anything else.
