Sure, analytical ability may be developed, but that is not all one should do. The ability to think well depends on carefully balancing logic and emotion--logic means little without emotion, and emotion means little without logic.
But to develop one's analytical abilities, a good start consists of:
1:) Meditating every day by lying on a flat surface, like a bed, closing one's eyes, and keeping your thoughts on one word, repeating the word over and over. Whenever your mind wants to get onto another subject, gently but firmly get it back on the word. Do this starting for 20 minutes a day, then, when you've mastered 20 minutes, increase it to 25 minutes, and finally to 30 minutes.
2:) Keeping your thought processes every day on whatever subject it's on, and keeping them on one subject until it's time to think of another subject.
3): Get some books of brain-teasers--Mensa's is a good one--and solving them.
4): Reading mystery stories and novels is also a good help.

Perhaps like we have arms that are only so long and therefore have a limited reach, but can be strengthened by exercise.
Practice of analytical exercises will increase current flow through the synapses which will eventually break down the resistance of adjacent synapses and then cause them to conduct which will provide a parallel path for thought impulses.
What do you think?
