Go with your best stuff. Blow them away. Roger Clements or Greg Maddux didn't mess around they went right after the hitter.
How many times have you seen a pitcher get to 0-2 then find themselves with pitch count issues a few innings later....

You only "waste" a pitch if you have scouted the batter and know that he is aggressive and swings a lot on 0-2.
I, as a coach, would call a high fastball (edge of strike zone) if that is my pitchers payoff pitch. Some pitcher work backwards. That means their payoff pitch might be a change or curve, in that case I would call for a change or curve in the dirt.

Wasting pitches only works if you know he's going to chase it. Otherwise, it's just a pitch against that magic "pitch count" that managers keep in their heads before they yank you off the mound.
Some of the best pitchers never waste a pitch. Greg Maddux in his heyday would almost never waste a pitch. Once there were 2 strikes, you could almost guarantee that the next pitch was right on the inside corner right at the knees right on the black stripe surrounding the plate. Couldn't believe how many guys he K'd on that pitch, standing there looking at it like it was going to be a ball...

Depends on the hitter. Some hitters don't care what the count is because they'll still swing at anything pitched to them. Others love hitting with 2 strikes so you need to be careful and find out what the hitter has done before.

Best pitch for 0-2 count is Your spotted fastball. Do not throw a curveball. Throw a spotted fastball off the plate and get the hitter chasing

I think its a good idea because if the batter dosen't swing and it is a close ball you will get the border line calls and a tip is that you should mix up were you throw to each batter go inside outside low and high that will get the confused.

That's ussually the strategy. 0-2 is always the best time for a breaking ball, or fastball off the plate.

definetly. the batter is protective and will swing at lots of stuff. usually an outside fastball will do the job.
