Safety first, right? But if your husband is responsible enough then I would say yes. I wouldn't know what to do if I lost my boyfriend b/c of an accident, but if you honestly believe that your husband is man enough to be responsible with it, then yes he does deserve it, but if you think that he won't be responsible with it, then why risk something so special? Ya know?

Is he normally a safe person? Or does he tend to be reckless and think he's invincible? Does he want it for the thrill and speed, or because he loves beautiful weather and the wind in his face, or some practical reason?
With gas prices these days, bikes are definitely becoming an answer. I would allow mine to, if I was absolutely confident in his driving skill, his temperament, his maturity and his regard for his own life and his family.
Sometimes it's more scary to think of how people in CARS drive around them, but in the end, the sad fact is anyone at any time may be injured or die in an accident; be it on a bike or in another car, or walking down the street.
It's also not real bad if he's likes to joyride - especially if there are safe places to do so, well cared for roads with little traffic, etc. (As long as he doesn't want to race and isn't reckless!) I've been on one behind the young kid driving. He was responsible, and we rode in deserted places and it was great fun. I did not feel it was unsafe at all. (However, driving down the highway would have alarmed me to think of the cars.)
Again, I would talk to him and discern the real reason behind it. And don't get it for him just because someone on here said to! Making a decision with potential risk is your and your husband's responsibility, and I'm sure talking it over with him, you will both do what feels the best option.
Best wishes.

There are a lot of things that can happen to someone - just walking down the street can be dangerous, as can driving a car. If your husband wants the bike and it will make him happy you should get it for him. God forbid anything happen to him you shouldn't think it's your fault because anything could just as easily happened if he were in a car, train, plain, or on foot.

Buy the bike, if he wants one so badly, he'll end up buying it anyway. Just make him promise to wear a helmet and keep the thing at the speed limit. To make sure you get the safety issue across to him, ask him as you're handing him the keys 'is the life insurance paid up' lol.

buy him a bike!!!
just make sure he knows about safety and is careful... dont be scared of what might happen, because in life, something can go wrong at any given time, and it doesnt matter if he has a bike or not.
just make sure he is responsible with it, or else, take it back! =)

I say hey if you have the money for a bike and thats what he is dying for then get it for him. You only live once and I truly believe that when its your time to go then its your time no stopping it. What if you two live to a ripe old age (if you get the bike you'll be happy you did, if you don't you'll regret it)

Make sure you buy him a helmet to go with the bike and insist he wears the helmet each time he rides that bike.

I would do it! There's a risk involved in a lot of things in life - you can't stop living just to be safe. Get him the bike and the two of you enjoy!

does he drive a car? car can kill him too, a butter knife can kill him too, the door step can hurt him if he trips over it, everything is not safe but we still do it. im sure your hubby will be fine, get him the bike and make this guy happy, if he hurts himself then i guess he will have to get up and dust himself off and try again, he will be fine. dont worry he is a grown man. you cant treat him like a child.

go for it, if it would make him happy then yes get him one, but when you buy the bike also invest in a real nice helment and insist that he wear it at all times, believe me you dont want to go through the death of someone you love by loosing them to another driver, i lost my dad that way 20 years ago. MAKE HIM WEAR A HELMENT AND TELL HIM YOU LOVE HIM EVERY DAY.
