All I got was what you said and its either a Spanish or old English name and started in early 1900's. There was a cute movie named that when I was real little like in the late 70's or early 80's.

Sorry, but it does mean simply "savannah" from the English word for the large grassy plain, ultimately deriving from the Taino (Native American) word zabana.
