thas been no evidence of any danger from coloring hair during this time. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist's Planning for Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond says using hair color or hair perm products "is okay when you're pregnant. The New York office of the Organization of Teratology Information Services, which provides information on potential reproductive risks, says that while the data are limited, coloring your hair during pregnancy is probably safe. They point out that these chemicals have been around a long time and no research shows they cause defects in newborns. Plus, if you apply them safely (using gloves in a well-ventilated room), you don't really absorb much of the chemicals into your system.

Though the pregnant belly is the most obvious physical effect a gestating fetus has on it's mother, it's by no means the only one. The changes are evident everywhere - from the palms of the hands (which may temporarily turn a ruddy red) to the inside of the mouth (gums may swell and bleed). The hair is no exception.
Though some extra-prudent practitioners still advise their patients to stay away from hair dyes when they're expecting, studies have not lnked these products to birth defects. Apparently, so little of the chemicals in the dyes is absorbed through the skin, it's not likely that it would leave any adverse effect.
But, while you may not have to worry about the impact on your baby if you continue colouring your hair, you may have to worry about the impact on your appearance. For hormonal reasons, your hair may react differently when you're expecting - leaving you with a colour you may not have expected.

There is no clear answer since there have been no scientific studies done to address the use of hair dye in pregnancy. While there is no actual evidence available that hair dye is harmful during pregnancy, many practitioners recommend not dying hair in the first trimester when the fetal organs are forming. Processes like highlighting, which don't contact the scalp (unlike hair dye), probably are fine because they don't get into the body.

Depends. Some schools of thought think the chemicals used in dyeing (especially bleaching) may "leak" into the blood stream and affect the baby. Best to be on the safe side and not dye while pregnant.

OK the chemicals don't seep into your blood but the fumes that come from the dye could be harmful if you breath them in. if you must dye your hair then you must be in the other room when the dye is mixed the powder for things like bleach are bad if anyone breath it in not just you. then you wanna make sure your in a ventilated area outside if possible. but if you don;t have to don't.

YES your scalp absorbs some of the chemicals, they are in minute amounts that don't affect you but can affect your unborn baby. Wait till you give birth. Been there done that my high lights were grown out over 2 inches by the time I had my son

No...its not bad. As long as you aren't doingit once a week. I homeowrked it a lot while I was pregnant. I was told that it would only harm you if you gut a big hole in your scalp and poured in the hair dye.
