im from nebraska.......you really can't compare omaha to the rest of nebraska. omaha is like kansas city in a way. its really big and it is a nice city. the rest of nebraska however is mostly corn.
to answer your question, its a nationwide tournament and so it only makes sense to put it in the middle of the country. that way you don't have to travel coast to coast. they also want a AAA ballpark, so they probably just found the best avaliable (seating-wise) ballpark in the middle of the country.
