Celebrities are trying to stick their heads into things they don't belong like politics. Just because you do a movie about politics doesn't mean you know every single damn thing about it. I would think of Scientology as a mental disorder for anyone who takes a religion made up by a science fiction book writer seriously have got to have problems. I mean look at Tom Cruises gay performance on Ophra. I wouldn't be surprised if George Clooney is the Pope of Scientology because he's worse than Cruise is with his smug and spoiled attitude and the stupid things he says. Ronald Reagan better be the only celebrity thats ever president. We don't need today's celebrities in that office that's for sure.

Very few Scientologists are rich celebrities, but the cult has a monstrous PR machine that is intent on making it look like the average Scientologist is far more happy and successful than they really are, in hopes of luring starry-eyed fans. Most rank and file Scientologists are nearly broke, either because they went in that way, or became broke after shoveling their fortune into any of Scientology's various and sundry hard sells. When Scientology does get their hooks into a bona fide celebrity, that person sees an entirely different side of the cult: different facilities, different handlers, and a different level of treatment that can rival a country club if they're a true A-list name. The folks who come in off the street for a "free personality test" or for some sham job opening they're always advertising are essentially treated as (and often referred to internally as) raw meat.

Nah, most of 'em are homeless drug addicts in Hollywood.

L. Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer. Scientology is based on what amounts to a science fiction story. What a coincidence.

Hubbard reportedly once made a statement to the effect of "if you really want to get rich, start a religion," but that hasn't been proven.
