What identifies you for your life-time?
Based on that, I would guess that you don't yet know what will define you for your life-time. So much will change in your life, that a single object simply won't define you.
Basically, I believe that you are too young to get a tatoo. When you have finished school, started your career, defined your family.... then get a tatoo that is the REAL you.

No mater what you get make sure that it has meaning for you. I have three and each one I designed for my self. The first is a slave bracelet on my left ankle . The second is the key to my slave bracelet and the third is a unicorn on my right shoulder. when I got the first I was in an abusive marriage and when I decided that I had to gt out I put the key on to remind myself that the only one that could free me was me. The unicorn is the symbol of rebirth and healing. You have to live with your tattoo for the rest of you life . Make sure it has meaning for you.

This is something that only you can answer. A tattoo is something that will stay with you forever. When I got mine, I made sure it was something that only I know I can live with for that amount of time.. Get something that you feel best represents you as a being. Almost what you can call your own trademark sort of speak!
Best of luck, and have fun with your decision! :)

there are some really good tattoo magazines. or if you have your own idea, the artist should be able to draw it. make sure it is something you love or you'll regret it. i wished when i was younger, i had stuck to only ONE theme....now i have a couple of really stupid ones i regret. can't think of the names of the magazines, but you can find them wherever biker magazines are sold. or google some images. good luck!!

Don't pick something that is generic. Pick something that means something to you. Tattoo artists enjoy doing unique work, so you may get something nicer than usual.
