Why would you kill a Garter Snake?,they are very beneficial, they eat rats and other vermin in your yard, they are not venomous and won't try to harm you. Please just leave him alone,I'm sure he will show you the same respect. If you are that afraid of snakes try putting moth balls around your house, this has always worked for family members on our farm.

Stop feeding it or chop off it's head.
BUT, these snakes are harmless and eat insects which may be. We have actually caught them for temporary pets and feed the Gold Fish in a bowl of water, fun to watch them catch the Fish.

I assume you are referring to Garter snakes. Garters are harmless predators of mice and insects. Do not kill them. If one is located where it makes you uncomfortable have animal control remove it. It is a free service in most counties.

Find out where their nest is. You can get rid of them quick enough by putting moth balls at the source of the nest. They'll move on.
