A lie that draws a smile is worse. The truth is what we want to know. Even if it's hard to hear. And when the lie is found out (and it will be) that will be even harder to forget and forgive.

While it would be nice if things like this were as clear cut as we'd like them to be. I'd have to say that this depends on the person or people you intend to lie to or to tell the truth.

Sometimes great things can come from lies, sometimes terrible things can come from the truth. It all depends on the ability of the people listening to it to be able to understand it and handle it.

Some people can not handle the truth, at all (and yes they do exist, some are worse than others). They breakdown, shutdown, and never recover. It's arguable if it's more humane to lie to the so that they can at least function in life. Others will beat you down if you ever lie to them because good or bad, they want the truth no matter what it is.

So I guess it depends on the person and the situation. Which is worse is a constantly changing and evolving answer.

This depends entirely on what you're telling the truth/lying about! If your friend makes their first apple pie, and you taste it and it's terrible, but you eat a piece and say, hey pretty good for a first try, that will draw a smile and not hurt ANYONE, because whether or not you like the pie is purely subjective--not everyone has to like the pie. It's a lot better than saying HEY, I think your apple pie SUCKS!!
That's a totally different situation than, for example, you lie and tell someone you love them just to keep from hurting them, which could have all sorts of complications in the long run, including being caught in the lie and hurting the person eventually anyhow.

Ok, it's not 'A truth that draws a tear'. As the saying goes, "the truth hurts sometimes."

Therefore, 'A lie that draws a smile' is worse.

A truth that draws a tear because if you tell a lie that draws a smile, the person'll find out and then you'll get a large frown, tears, and a terminated friendship.

Truth that draws a tear because, If you don't want to know the answer to a question then don't ask if you can't handle the truth.

A truth that draws a tear is better unless it's a little lie like, if your friend loves a song and you say you like it a lot but you really like it only a tiny bit, or something like that.

A truth that draws a tear. Lies hurt, and could completely ruin somebody's life. The truth is always better, even if it upsets someone.

I think it really depends on what the lie is or what the truth is.

Like if your firend asks you if she's pretty and you LIE and say that she is, thats GOOD and will make her happy.

But if you tell her the TRUTH, that she's not pretty, then that's BAD cuz it will really make her upset.

But something like if you LIE about cheating on a partner then that could cause more problems in your relationship or even bring in an STD. So its BAD

If you tell the TRUTH that you cheated thats GOOD
