I do not have good news for you buddy. Papadopoulos (literally means "son of a priest") is the most common name in Greece. The phone book has hundreds of pages with that name. there was a football team in Achaia that all 22 players and the couch were named Papadopoulos and they were not related.
This is what you should do: Try to find out from which village they came from (most likely from Southern Greece or Peloponnese). Once this is done check with the Greek embassy or the Word Council of Hellenes Abroad (see link bellow) and ask them if they can help. Once you have information on the place of origin try to sent a letter to the major and see if they can help.

Best of luck

Hi there,

Kimon is right. Try to find out where exactly they came from or look for any kind of document you may find. Go to the Greek Embassy and ask for their records. Your family probably was registered to the Greek Embassy of Guatemala or if they changed citizenship for sure they applied for the cancellation of the Greek citizenship.

I would suggest you to come also in contact with the "Foundation of the Hellenic World". (check the link below). I know that in the past they had made an invitation to everybody to give information about his/her descent and all his/hers family members in order to make a database for all the Greeks around the world. I am sure that if they can not help you directly they will know how you can start your research or they may give you some information about other organizations or foundations

The best of luck.

Hello dear!
Kimon and Gke are correct!
Papadopoulos not only is known but it could be from anywhere!
Can you find out where they came from? When?
