I am about 7 weeks along, my first pregnancy, and I HURT. I'm pretty small framed and my doctor says I am probably just stretching out, making room for the baby. My lower back feels awful as does the middle of my back. Even my chest and ribs are in pain. I've tried tylenol and it's not helping. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I know there's more to look forward to in the coming months and I'm trying not to be a wimp about it, I guess I just don't know what to expect or what's normal.

its normal hon, and yeah it suxs! your body...including your joints are getting ready to make room for the baby. in your last six weeks...you will probably have hip discomfort as well, your joint in your pelvis loosen and ready for the pelvis to stretch to allow baby's head to pass through.
you might want to go to your local book store, get a book called "what to expect when your expecting".
its a GREAT book with TONS of answers to questions you will be asking now and later on.

Those symptoms are normal, you'll get them off and on during the pregnancy. I don't believe you should be taking tylenol though. Ask your doctor what to take for pain.

Best of luck.

ya, just be glad if you aren't throwing up too much, but you're gonna be pretty hurting throughout, you get used to it after a while. your back gets worse and worse until you can't even sleep, it's hard to breathe... there's only about a month or two you can actually enjoy being preg. Good luck!
