I use bare escentuals and love it. I was a little leery at first thinking it was just powder, but ...it is not. I would suggest trying it because:
1. it has great coverage & doesnt come right off in water or with perspiration
2. its great for your skin - they say you can even sleep in it and wont cause breakouts.
3. they have many shades to choose from
4. its very forgiving and you wont see a line of demarkation at your jaw
5. Its very easy to use
6. the initial kit you get gives you two colors to experiment with :

Try a tinted moisturizer. Laura Mercier makes a good one, but if you're looking for a drugstore kind, try Neutrogena Clean Tint. They absorb into skin better than a regular foundation, but coverage is still pretty good.

I love bare essentials! It is lightweight and makes your skin look great. Put on a light moisturizer before you put it on. It doesn't cake or make your skin look masked. It also has the American Skin Cancer Association seal of approval.

I use Bare Essentials. It has great coverage but looks natural.
It is SBF 15 and also wears well in humidity.
