I've already posted flyers in locals stores & recited my experience on an online forum; the owner responded by harassing me & threatening to sue for defamination, even though whats I've said is true....I would love see this place be shut down. Can he lose his license over the harassment? Any serious advice & ideas appreciated...serious only please!

Ok. You have to be careful on how you play your game here because if he can prove that anything you say about him is untrue he may have grounds for his deformation suit.

If he has wronged you, there are a couple of things you can do:
1. Sue him for the wrong he did to you.
2. Contact the better business bureau in your area
3. Report what he did to the government group that regulates car dealers in your area
4. Contact the TV station in your area that does customer complaint reporting.

You can't get him to lose his license because he is harassing you. He can easily say that YOU are harassing HIM. In fact he has a better case for suing you for libel because you posted those fliers. Remember, you have to prove what you said is true. He doesn't have to prove anything because he can produce one of your fliers as evidence.

One of the answerers has already suggested the Better Business Bureau. That is a good idea, to start. The laws and bureaucracy differs from state to state. In California, an agency called the Bureau of Automotive Repairs (BAR) licenses mechanics and garages. You may have an equivalent in your state. It may also be a county entity that does this in your local area. Find this agency and post your complaint with them.

Either way, BBB or the local government agency, make them investigate and get their findings back to you. Harass and nag THEM if you don't get a response.

I live in Central Florida, and things like this are on the news all the time. We have a team called "The Problem Solvers" and another on a different channel called Whistle Blowers. They expose all kinds of shady characters from crooked politicians to underhanded business people. Call your local TV stations to find out if anything like that exists in your area.

First you need to get yourself legal counsel just in case it is a law suit. Contact the better business bureau that might get the word out. You could also contact your local media if they have a watchdog department.

Get the local troubleshooter t.v. station person to check them out. In San Diego we have two Marty Emerald and the Turko files. Peace.

Make sure you're not slandering him or commiting libel against him. If you cannot prove it then he CAN sue you. If it's a caveat emptor (buyer beware) type thing, he can sue you.
Make sure that you have all you ducks in a row. If you don't... drop it.
