The 1 Corinthians 11:14-15 passage is found in the context of a paragraph that focuses on the distinctions between men and women and how that was to be observed in Christ’s church. In contrast to the natural head covering God gave to women in their long hair, Paul makes the statement that while long hair is a woman’s “glory” it is a man’s “shame.” And he states that even nature teaches us that it is a shame for a man to have long hair.

Thus, while there is no specific guideline as to how often one should cut his hair or at what specific length to cut it, it is clear that God intended for there to be a distinction between men’s hair and women’s hair length and that the idea of “unisex” hair cuts are contrary to this distinction. What the Bible is saying is that women should generally have long hair, and men should generally have short hair. A woman should not have a man’s haircut, a man should not have a woman’s haircut. We should be able to tell if a person is a man or a woman by their hair.

Though it is quite interesting that this should be in the Bible when considering the story of Sampson and Delilah, whereby Sampson lost his 'blessing' of great strength when his hair was shorn and did not regain it until his hair had returned to its former length. Furthermore, most every potrait that can be found of Jesus Christ and his Apostles depicts the Son of God with long hair.

"It will pass" occurs a great many times throughout the Bible, but the most noteable instance also occurs in 1 Corinthians (Chapter 13) whereby all things shall pass away, but love alone shall endure.

if men were naturally supposed to have short hair then your hair would just stop growing by itself.
