They stop after you sign up for the card.

Just tell them you already have one. You're useless to them, then.

most employees of a department store for an example, are trained to ask every person who purchases a shirt or whatever, "would you like to use your (fill in the blank) store card today? "would you like to open one and save 10%?" You know what I mean. Anyway to get to my answer, dept. stores will give 10% off of your first purchase because their cards usually carry a very high interest rate. Higher than your bank or credit cards. So for example, if you made a $100.00 purchase and saved 10% or $10.00, if you made the minimum payment on a dept. store card that carried a 22.1% interest rate. the amount of your puchase went from $90.00 to $112.10. And imagine what it would cost if you kept making the minimum payment. This explains why so many people are in credit card debt. Don't take it out on the check out girl. She has no idea, probably because she is still in high school and has no idea about credit. She will one day though. So keep saying "no thanks" to all of those offers, unless you pay them all in full every month. good luck, hope this helps

3 NO's will usually seal a deal. I sell car's and 3 NO's means a non-buyer. So I guess go from there.

I usually tell them- I am not interested so please don't waste my time. Usually they let me go after they hear that. Don't be afraid to be upfront with them. i know its their job to try and sell their product but they have no right to waste your time and make you angry.
