my son found a clam in a local lake and brought it home.

Clams are filter feeders so as long as you get water and sand from the lake and change half of it regularly, you should be fine as there will be some plankton in it.

keep em on ice.. they need air to live dead clams taste bad..

when ready boil em up in roasting pan with with stick of buter and lotsa garlic cloves

Yes- They like to live in rapidly boiling water for a few minutes (until they open slightly) then they like to be removed from their shell, dipped in melted butter and placed in my belly. yum.

from what I have read they are VERY hard to keep alive in captivity, Sorry

put wet sand in a place and keep it moist!!!!
