I would have to say "yes". Although they do still write music and play their songs as though they are a real band, in reality, they gave up being a 'real' band a few years ago when they decided to become more of a 'corporation'. Real bands have a lot more issues and often threaten to break-up and get back together, etc.

U2 are so dependent upon their business of U2 and so in love with the glory of it all that they can never even consider breaking up. You can't break-up a band, if they stopped being a real band already. Anyway, I love their music, I love their style, their last record was great, but I would say that as a band, they were finished round about Achtung Baby. From there, they started being more of a business entity than a true, classic, rock and roll band.

So call 'em what you will, if you meant 'no longer a band' when you say "finished"(the premise I assumed you took) then I'd have to respond with a "yes". Radiohead on the other hand, "no" they're not finished. A lot of bands cease to be a band before they've even really become a real band. Some give into being a corporate entity very quickly. U2 took a while, but they gave in eventually.

Never!! U2 is still making the best music of our time and have been for the last 25 years and if any one thinks differently they're wrong. U2's music still has meaning and their style is true to themselves, they are timeless and if I could have it my way U2 would be around forever because there will never be a band as great as U2.

Oh, not at all! They may be getting older, but their music is timeless. As long as they continue to create the fantastic music they've come to be known for, I see them lasting for a very long time :D
