Obviously, many celebrities have forgotten the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
And the fact that it's the fans who put them where they are today. "Thou shalt not tick off thy fans. For they are thy bread and butter."

unless they are completely stupid of course they knew about the media side of being known. I think alot of them need all the publicity they can get, the more they hit back, the more they are talked about, and that raises their profile. some singers, movie/TV stars, those type of celebrities, do treat people like dirt, like as if they are the king and you are the pheasant. If it wasn't for the normal folk who watched their shows every week, brought their CD's/song, went to the cinema to see the movie they wouldn't be in the position they are in right now, they could at least be grateful and give some sort of respect back, everyone deserves to be treated with respect no matter who they are. I think half of them get a bad personality transplant when they become famous. I don't have time for them. I'm sure there are some nice celebrities, but the majority seem to be hidden away.

The meaning of the word celebrity seems to have changed beyond all recognition. It is connected to fame. And surely you should only be 'famous' if you deserve to be legitimately recognized for something worthwhile - such as a contribution to life and society a, musician, a writer, an artist, a great thinker, etc...
Nowdays the word 'celebrity' is actually a meaningless word. It. Means. Absolutely. Nothing. Now here a some modern day so-called 'celebrities' and think what they are famous for, what they have achieved, and what they contribute: Jade Goody, Chantelle (big brother), Jodie Marsh, Paris Hilton, any so-called 'winner' of one of these pop idol things...
That's right, nothing. So being a celebrity is to be a chav and be idolised by chavs is it? Ok, right.

I think that if a celebrity is famous for doing something that is going to help people(charity work) or entertain people(their job) then they should be treated with the respect they deserve. (especially when it comes to the papparazzi)
But if a celebrity is famous for doing nothing and has an attitude then unfortunately they are very weak people and should always remember that ... No matter who you are, always remember how you got to where you are now.

I think it's up to the individual. It only takes a second or two, and is polite. To be honest the fortunes these people make you would think that they would have a big expensive watch or at the very least a helper to give them the time of day without having to ask Joe public.
