Already answered in another forum...

Answer is Bill Russell - he was 10-0 in game 7's.

57 NBA Finals - 19 pts 32 rebounds
59 East Finals - 18 pts 32 rebounds
60 NBA Finals - 22 pts 35 rebounds
62 East finals - 19 pts, don't have rebound number (this was against Wilt)

62 NBA finals - 30 pts 40 rebounds (some sources list 44 rebounds, but I think most sources list 40.)
63 East finals - 20 pts, don't have rebound number
65 East finals - 15 pts 29 rebounds 9 assists (against Wilt)
66 NBA finals - 25 pts 32 rebounds (this is getting silly)
68 East finals - 12 pts, held Wilt to 14. Don't have rebound #s
69 NBA finals - 21 rebounds vs. Wilt...won his 11th title in a 13 year NBA career... that was his final game

Jordan's resume doesn't come close. TEN AND OH(!) IN GAME SEVENS.

Other players who were superior clutch shooters over Jordan were Jerry West, John Havlicek, Walt Frazier, Sam Jones, Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Larry Bird.

Jordan also missed 2-3 times as many game winners as he made. ESPN doesn't like to show those, though...David Stern ordered all of THOSE tapes destroyed.

Considering Russell averaged about 15 pts / game over his career (to go with 23 rebounds), one can tell that he certainly elevated his game when it comes time for game 7. He was the greatest game 7 performer in the history of sports...any sport!

Playing against Bill Russell in game 7 means only one thing... you LOST, baby

No one will ever go 10-0 in game 7's again. I believe the great # 23 was 2-1 in game 7s, but i'd have to double check that.

being a clutch player is someone you can rely on every game and not fall under pressure. based on that definition, then it would be Larry Bird.

MJ is in a different category all-together. he doesn't have to be a clutch player since just being in the game is a definite advantage.

Larry Bird has made more game winning shots than MJ.
