You're tired and lethargic from being too hot and a little dehydrated. Probably a little sleepy and stiff from lying around too, if you're actually sunbathing.
The suns energy is electromagnetic radiation, that's not the same kind of energy your body runs on. Your body runs on chemical energy, that is, energy derived from breaking down chemicals.
The sun's energy comes from fusion reactions.
A fusion reaction is when two atomic nuclei (the part in the middle of an atom) are joined into another heavier element.
Our sun is a medium size main sequence star. Which means that it isn't too big, and that it's in the prime of it's life. It fuses hydrogen into helium for the most part.
When a fusion reaction happens not all the mass of the two atoms from the beginning goes into the final single atom, the rest flies off as radiation. The radiation excites the atoms in the sun and they give off the electromagnetic radiation that we receive.

The sun does give give a human energy per say, So staying out in the sun all day is not going to give you the energy and endurance to run a race however it does provide light that carries energy as well I think the radiation has something to do with it.

The sun gives off energy, but it doesn't give YOU energy directly. Your body can make Vitamin D with certain frequencies of light from the sun, but Vitamin D is not energy. The sun gives you energy indirectly because you obtain energy by eating things that use the sun. The sun is necessary for plants to grow, which you eat directly (fruits and vegetables) or other things (animals)eat them and then you eat those animals (fish, beef, poultry, etc.).
You feel tired when being under the sun because the sun dehydrates you. You lose water (and other things) that make you feel weak.
Don't stay out in the sun for too long (and not just because of the dehydration)!

The sun cannot give you energy directly, since humans can not photosynthesize. We need at least one go between organism (plant) to give us energy which we aces when we eat. The only way that the sun can seem to give one energy is when it is very cold. the sun can warm us up and our metabolism can slow down, saving stored food energy. So when you lie in the sun, or go to any warm place, you are not gaining energy, only saving it. felling lazy in the sun is may be your metabolism slowing down, so that you have less energy. if you get up and start moving, your metabolic rate should rise and you will feel more energetic. Otherwise, it may just be that you are tired to start with when you sunbathe.

Every cell in your living body..... is comprised of electromagnetic energy as electrons whirl around each cell nucleus.... just like it takes energy to make energy, the paradox of working out and having more energy afterwards, so is the paradox of the Sun bathing and sun gazing.
But your skin is not the best, or even direct conductor of energy, but the neurological pathway thru the eyes, to the optic nerve, thru the optic chiasm in the center of your brain... This is called sungazing.
Sungazing charges the bodies cells, much like you would an alkaline battery... Unfortunately, Americans have a very acidic diet, and the sunlight has a different effect in these individuals. But if a person with an alkalizing diet, sungazes (at sunrise or sunset) it is not harmful, and will actually decalcify, a calcified pineal gland.
Research sungazing benefits AND decalcification of the pineal gland. Lastly sun on your skin creates Vitamin D... The energy sunlight vitamin. Your body answers 4u!

Getting out in the sun is good for vitamin D production.
"Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin that is found in food and can also be made in your body after exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun."

You may feel tired and lazy after too much sun because you are dehydrated. Drink lots of water. You should go inside or sit in the shade when you start to feel drowsy. Read this...
